Position Overview

The Assistant Director of Title IX Support & Student Accessibility Services, under the general supervision of the Director of Accessibility & Student Support Services, plays a key role in ensuring that Cascadia College adheres to federal and state regulations, including Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and other applicable laws. This position involves managing critical student support services, promoting an inclusive campus culture, and ensuring compliance with Title IX regulations.

In this role, you will work directly with students who have experienced sex and gender-based discrimination, providing supportive measures and guiding them through the Title IX process. You will also lead campus-wide outreach and prevention initiatives to raise awareness about sex and gender-based violence and discrimination. Additionally, you will support students registered with Student Accessibility Services by delivering individualized Assistive Technology training and collaborating on data analysis to improve program effectiveness.

Initial Salary: $80,255.20 annually (Includes 5% King County Premium Pay)

Essential Duties

Duties and Responsibilities

Student Title IX Leadership:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for students reporting incidents of sex and gender-based violence or discrimination, providing a safe, supportive space and clear guidance on their rights and the Title IX process.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to design and implement nondiscrimination policies and procedures in response to student discrimination complaints.
  • Develop and deliver campus-wide outreach initiatives aimed at preventing sex and gender-based violence and discrimination, with measurable learning outcomes. Continuously assess and improve these initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Title IX Coordinator to ensure students are fully supported throughout the Title IX process, and that supportive measures are provided as needed.
  • Partner with the Violence Prevention and Advocacy (VPA) program, shared with the University of Washington Bothell, to implement best practices around sex and gender-based violence and discrimination prevention.
  • Stay up to date on Title IX regulations, legal guidance, and best practices, ensuring Cascadia remains compliant with all federal and state laws.
  • Develop and deliver training workshops for faculty, staff, and administrators on Title IX compliance, sex, and gender-based violence prevention.
  • Analyze and report on Title IX data and prevention outcomes to guide campus-wide efforts and foster a culture of safety and inclusion.

Student Accessibility Services Support:
  • Provide one-on-one Assistive Technology training for students registered with Student Accessibility Services, utilizing tools such as Glean, Natural Reader, NVDA, and others. Offer training in multiple formats to meet diverse student needs.
  • Stay informed on advancements in Assistive Technology and software updates to ensure the college is providing the best tools and resources for students with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Accessibility & Student Support Services to analyze data on program services, identifying areas for improvement and driving continuous program development.

Performs other related duties of a similar nature or level as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in public health, gender studies, special education, sociology, psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience working with organizations focused on addressing sex and gender-based discrimination or violence prevention.
  • Proven ability to manage sensitive information with discretion, particularly when working with individuals who have experienced trauma.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with the ability to foster a multicultural workplace and educational environment.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities in a professional setting.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated commitment to and interest in diversity, equity and inclusion and the ability to support a multicultural workplace and educational environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in public health, gender studies, special education, sociology, psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience working within higher education.
  • In-depth knowledge of Title IX, ADA, Section 504, and other relevant laws.
  • Experience using Assistive Technology tools (e.g., screen readers, text-to-speech software).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to successfully communicate (written and orally) in a language in addition to English.


Physical Work Environment

Semi-Sedentary Work: Involves staying in a stationary position to a significant degree. Jobs are sedentary if moving is required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

The College is currently in hybrid operations, with many assignments completed in an online environment during this time. Full-time employees are expected to be on-campus at least three (3) days per week with the option to work remotely for the remainder of their working days. Employees will need to provide their own remote workspace and internet access, noting the College will provide technical equipment and support for online work needs. During on-campus operations, this position will perform work in a standard office setting, use standard office equipment and physically attend meetings both on and off campus and requires the ability to communicate in person or through appropriate means.

Positions in this class typically require operating a computer, communicating, observing, and repetitive motions.

This position involves exerting between 10-30 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to transport, put, install, remove, or otherwise move objects, with or without reasonable accommodation.
