Boston University Virtual (BUV) is a unit at Boston University focused on the creation and support of high-quality online degree and certificate programs. We are seeking an Enrollment & Student Success Manager to play a pivotal role in developing BUVs efforts to recruit and support online students more effectively and efficiently.
The Manager will play a key role in developing BU Virtuals online student recruitment and student success initiatives, building the full nurture journey from inquiry to deposit. This individual will work closely with stakeholders around the university to update and launch content to support our programs, as well as working with schools to improve programs positioning in-market. They will assist in the development of analytics reporting to support informed decision-making on marketing spending, the recruitment funnel, and other initiatives important to the online student success journey.
The ideal candidate is experienced in enrollment management in a higher education setting, and in the use of analytics tools for websites, and can suggest and deploy strategic improvements based on their insights. Some experience of maintaining websites (preferably in WordPress) would be very helpful. The role reports to the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success.
Key Responsibilities include:
1.) Enrollment Management /Student Success Support Services (60%) Develop and implement comprehensive enrollment strategies to attract and engage prospective students, guiding them through the inquiry-to-deposit process. Assist in the development and execution of digital marketing strategies, including paid search, paid social, and other online channels, to effectively reach target audiences. Support the creation of regular analytics reports to track marketing performance, student engagement, and recruitment funnel progress. Provide data-driven insights to inform decisions on marketing spend and optimization. Collaborate with schools and colleges to set marketing and enrollment goals and discuss possible marketing options in search and social. Consult schools and colleges on positioning of their programs in the market and provide recommendations of how to increase enrollment and online student success. Develop and prepare materials and tools that aid schools and colleges in the development of online student success strategies and best practices to increase opportunities for success. Stay current in enrollment trends to provide ongoing continuous improvement. Develop marketing and enrollment management playbooks for new and existing online programs that can be shared across schools and colleges to drive best practices and alignment. 2.) Website Development and Management (20%) Partner with schools marketing and enrollment teams to ensure the BUVs website and program pages are optimized for user experience, lead generation, and performance. Maintain up-to-date content that accurately reflects program offerings and supports recruitment efforts. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and stakeholder teams to build and revise content for launch on the website. Create development resources and tools that encourage self-service improvements and content delivery.
3.) User Experience Research + Search Engine Optimization (20%) Review BU Virtual websites to understand how users are finding and using them. Provide recommendations for accessibility improvements to adhere to WCAG best practice. Implement SEO best practices to improve the university's organic search rankings, increase website traffic, and ensure program visibility in key markets. Provide and execute recommendations to drive additional web traffic to BU programs Consult schools and colleges on how to improve their organic search
Required Skills

- Bachelor's Degree or comparable professional experience in Digital Marketing, Online Program Management or related sectors.
- 7+ years of experience, preferably within Higher Education or Higher Education Marketing and enrollment management.
- Experience with running campaigns in paid search, paid social, display marketing, and other digital media.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to work across multiple programs with different characteristics.
- Ability to thrive amidst ambiguity and execute in a collaborative and a fast-paced environment.
- Highly approachable and passionate about collaborating with teams in a 1 to 1 or group setting.
- A self-starter with an entrepreneurial style, and the ability to shift priorities based on needs.
- Creativity and desire to experiment with novel technologies and solutions.
- A can-do positive attitude and a strong desire to get things done and measure the success of efforts. Preferred Qualifications Strong understanding of the online student journey. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Salesforce, or similar CRM). Experience in website development.
