Job Description

The President's Office at Idaho State University invites applications for a Chief Campus Administrator for the Eastern and Southern Idaho regions.


The Chief Campus Administrator is responsible for coordinating with all constituents of the broad campus community to facilitate vibrancy and growth of the Idaho Falls and Twin Falls campuses including academic program delivery, research support, community engagement, and campus operations. These campuses and their communities offer students in the region transformative educational experiences, serve as sites for research and industry collaboration, and connect the local community to the broader university community. This position is based on the Idaho Falls campus and reports directly to the President coordinating closely with members of the President's Administrative Council.
Key Responsibilities
Provide campus leadership in Eastern and Southern Idaho advancing the University's academic, research, and community engagement vision through execution of site-specific strategic plans and partnering effectively with operational departments along with the Divisions of Academic Affairs and Research on program development and implementation.
In cooperation with the Provost and Division of Academic Affairs, assess the appropriateness and efficacy of programmatic offerings and scheduling in Idaho Falls and Twin Falls in order to inform Academic Affairs of the unique nature of the needs of those communities.
As directed by the Division of Academic Affairs and the Division of Research, coordinate the development and implementation of plans related to the delivery of instruction, research and service.
Oversees campus operations (Facilities, Student Union, Student Services, Testing Center, Library) to ensure effective overall campus planning, day-to-day operations and public relations in the Idaho Falls and Twin Falls regions. Oversees and manages budgets related to these in coordination with area-specific unit leads.
Serve as primary liaison between ISU, UI, CEI, CSI, BYU-I, local area school districts, and other relevant education partners in Idaho Falls and/or Twin Falls regions. Also serve with a team of coordinating administrators working with ISU and our partners at INL and CAES. The incumbent is responsible for partnering with other institutional leadership to ensure effective community engagement with industry, civic partners, and educational leaders. Works in coordination, and as required, under the direction of university administrators in the implementation of these responsibilities.
Collaborate with deans and the Office for Research to manage and expand professional education and research partnerships with the Idaho National Laboratory.
Represent ISU on LOC (Local Operations Committees). LOC's are SBOE assigned regional committees to oversee collaboration between state institutions.
Other duties and special projects, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree
7+ years experience in higher education or higher education administration
Experience with successful development and implementation of new initiatives
Exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact effectively with academic leadership, faculty, and staff at all organizational levels
Demonstrated ability to be part of a collaborative leadership team committed to advancing the institutional mission and strategic goals
Demonstrated leadership in bringing stakeholders together to execute complex projects
Experience with maintenance of key partnerships, including academic outreach leadership
Demonstrated knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures for a complex organization

Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral degree
10+ years experience in higher education or higher education administration
Administrative experience leading within a multi-campus system
