    Description of Work Unit
    The Student Resolution Center (SRC) supports the developmental, behavioral, and educational needs of students. Through a myriad of approaches, the SRC strives to maximize individual student success while upholding community standards and helping students overcome mistakes. SRC aims to assist, educate and support CSU students through two processes:

    Conflict Resolution Services - voluntary, neutral, confidential processes to assist students when conflicts, disputes, or issues arise. Programs and services include Conflict Coaching, Restorative Justice, Mediation, process consultation, and training.

    Student Conduct Services - one-on-one meetings to discuss alleged violations of the Student Conduct Code, hear perspectives, explore personal responsibility, hold students accountable, and provide educational and restorative outcomes when appropriate.

    Position Summary
    The Executive Director of the Student Resolution Center reports directly to the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs/Dean of Students. This position is responsible for overseeing the university's student conduct process and a myriad of conflict resolution processes, focusing on student success and retention.

    The Executive Director oversees the overall vision, strategic planning, supervision, budget, and assessment of Student Conduct Services and Conflict Resolution Services. The Executive Director is the head of the SRC leadership team comprised of the most senior members of each functional area of the department.

    The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring the student conduct process complies with state and federal laws and regulations. They serve as the custodian of all student conduct records. They are responsible for the content and administration of the university's Student Conduct Code and serve as the university's most senior Hearing Officer for all students (undergraduate and graduate, residential and online).

    The Executive Director is responsible for the overall development and implementation of Conflict Resolution Services initiatives and educational programs, including Restorative Justice, Conflict Coaching, Mediation, and training.

    The Executive Director is responsible for the overall development and implementation of all assessment initiatives focusing on student success and retention. They manage crisis situations related to students, advocate for student interests, promote fundamental fairness, encourage student development, and represent the Division and/or University at on and off-campus events. The Executive Director is responsible for creating strategic partnerships with university and community stakeholders to accomplish the department's overall mission.

    Required Job Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Student Affairs/Higher Education, Counseling, Social Work, Conflict Resolution, or a related field.
  • 10 years of full-time experience in higher education.
  • Demonstrated experience with conflict resolution or alternative dispute resolution practices.
  • Demonstrated experience with student conduct administration.
  • Experience directly supervising full-time professionals.
  • Experience creating and managing budgets.

    Preferred Job Qualifications
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Federal regulations and legal issues in higher education, including but not limited to Title IX, Campus SaVE Act, Clery Act, VAWA, ADA, Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act, and FERPA.
  • Received a 40-hour basic mediation certificate or 20-hour restorative justice facilitator training or training in conflict coaching.
  • Demonstrated experience working with faculty in higher education.
  • Demonstrated commitment to and experience working with diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated experience working with stakeholders and constituents connected to conflict resolution and student conduct services.
  • Demonstrated experience with crisis management and strategic interventions.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills such as reports, proposals, professional correspondence, presentation content and materials, etc.

  • Serve as the university's most senior Hearing Officer, adjudicating the highest level, complex cases of individual students and organizational misconduct.
  • Administer sanctions that center campus safety and emphasize education, student development, and repairing harm as appropriate.
  • Assess and respond to student crisis situations, providing appropriate interventions, referrals, and recommendations.
  • Implement interim measures when the seriousness of alleged behavior threatens the safety and well-being of members of the University community, threatens University property, or has the potential to disrupt or interfere with normal University operations.
  • Oversee organizational operations of Conflict Resolution Services and Student Conduct Services, which include all programmatic initiatives, fiscal management and operations, staff direction, performance management, and development.
  • Oversee communication strategy including the website, letter templates, and marketing efforts. Collaborate with Marketing and Communication on all media inquiries.
  • Facilitate intensive collaboration with University Housing, Support and Safety Assessment, local law enforcement agencies, local courts, Office of the General Council, Title IX Programs and Gender Equity, Faculty Council, Office of the Provost, Student Legal Services, Student Case Management, Fraternity and Sorority Life, The Institute for Learning and Teaching, Off Campus Life, and Student Cultural Centers to foster strategic partnerships that aid in the SRC's efficacy.
  • Manage the Pre-Admission Application Review process. This includes applications for international education, graduate/professional school, government jobs, and professional athletic associations.
  • Oversee the Student Conduct Appeal Committee.
  • Oversee the Academic Misconduct Review Committee.
  • Adjudicate high-level student conduct cases for individual students and student organizations.
  • Address high-level conflict resolution cases.
  • Review, update, develop, and implement the Student Conduct Code, Faculty Manual, Residence Hall Handbook, and General Catalog.
  • Oversee assessment initiatives that measure learning outcomes of educational workshops and department services for students.
  • Manage and develop department budget.
  • Oversee presentations to the Student Fee Review Board to demonstrate how funds were spent the past year and visionary plans.
  • Assess, prepare and deliver strategic goals and data for the Division of Student Affairs assessment cycle (goals, priorities, annual reflection, and program review).

  • Oversee the development and implementation of all educational workshops offered by the Student Resolution Center. These workshops focus on improving student's decision-making skills, how to be a positive community member in the Fort Collins community and residence halls, education on State law and Municipal ordinances, and preventive measures around academic misconduct.
  • Research, identify, and engage in best practices for Conflict Resolution Services.
  • Provide administrative direction and support for Conflict Resolution Services, which includes the restorative justice program by supporting specialized training (social justice) and recruitment of volunteers.
  • Review and update assessment initiatives to meet learning outcomes objectives.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of all educational workshops.
  • Conduct presentations to students, parents, faculty, staff and community members on programs and services affiliated with the office. This includes all educational workshops and programs such as restorative justice, mediation, and diversion program.
